Alieu Secka has worked in Auditing & Finance, Hospitality, Strategy and Corporate Administration and championed momentous transformations in the private sector for more than 28 years, prominent among them leadership and positive advocacy in Public Private Dialogue culminating in setting up The Gambia’s National Business Council as well as the in tourism industry, where he invested and served as Chairman of Gambia Hotel Association for 6 years, Africa Travel Association, National Enterprise Development Initiative, Director of Labour Advisory Board and Reliance Financial Services Ltd.

Mr Secka studied Corporate Governance and Business Finance in London and holds Fellowship of the UK Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (FCIS) now renamed Chartered Governance Institute (CGI), Fellow of Chartered Management Institute (FCMI), and Fellow Member of Association of Accounting Technicians (FMAAT). He further studied Hospitality General Management at Cornell University, USA and Transformational Leadership at Cambridge Judge Business School, UK.

Mr Secka has extensive corporate governance experience as Board Director of Gambia Ports Authority, Social Development Fund, Gambia Public Works Agency, Drug Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia, SheTrades Advisory Board and Complaints Review Board. He is a social entrepreneur, an active Rotarian, a past President of Rotary and District Treasurer in West Africa. At a global level, Mr Secka is the Honorary Consul of Indonesia in The Gambia, and served as Board Observer at Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Climate Investment Fund (CIF), Strategic Climate Fund (SCF) Trust Fund Committee. He is a former Chief Executive Officer of Gambia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) and Hotel General Manager.

Mr Secka has received several awards including: Medal of the National Order of The Republic of The Gambia, Balafong from Africa Travel Magazine, as well as from Africa Travel Association.
